THE OWNER OF AMM CONSULTING
To become truly proficient in something, it is necessary to have two things – knowledge and experience. The first is acquired through education and the second through practice. Continuous improvement efforts will turn such a person into an expert. My expertise in the world of project and business management has developed precisely in this manner – through education, continuous improvement and hard work.
I have been earning money since I was fourteen years old, and my professional journey started while still being a student at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb. Since then, I have acquired twenty years of work experience, working for multiple employers and on individual engagements. I honed my knowledge and gained experience by working in various industries and organisational systems, as well as on various projects.
Sixteen years of this experience relate to working in the private sector. I started at the bottom of the organisational structure, which allowed me to get to know the work environment, shaping myself professionally from the simplest tasks to complicated and highly complex ones. Continuous professional development, without skipping any of the hierarchical levels, helped me get acquainted with all aspects of business and slowly, but surely mature into an expert.
By changing industries, as well as employers, and performing various roles in which I equally invested the already acquired knowledge and gained new experience in project and operations management, I had faced many complex problems. Working on challenging projects and managing multimillion budgets have made me come to grips with many unpredictable situations. However, I emerged victorious from them, which would not have happened if I had always stayed in a familiar business environment with an established way of doing things.
Some systems and projects needed only a different perspective and a few “cosmetic” changes; others, however, required rescue or sweeping change and transformation. I have overcome all of these challenges successfully. From that arose my greatest professional strength: looking at the bigger picture, identifying problems and the potential, and suggesting direction and a way of conduct to maximise project or organisational efficiency and overall performance. My speciality is turning minuses into pluses and making good things better and more successful! It is precisely the changes I make and the results I achieve within a system or project that often bring yielding rewards to the other side. Therefore, it is not surprising that I confirmed this knowledge and experience related to managing changes at the highest professional level by becoming the first holder of the CCMP certificate in Croatia and the region in October 2022.
Throughout the remaining four years of my work experience, which I am particularly proud of, I experienced the charm and challenge of working in the public sector, in its non-profit segment. What should have been a shorter business engagement of analysing the organisational system at hand and proposing corrective measures had actually become years of work for the well-being of children in need. While changing this government organisation from the ground up, I have further improved in related management areas – managing organisational changes and transformation. I am proud to say that despite many challenges that needed to be overcome along the way, this organisation improved so much that it has practically tripled its productivity and thus certainly justified its purpose – for the benefit of the founder and the children in need.
Yet, my expertise doesn’t just come from practice. It is partly the result of continuous education and training. Learning is an integral part of my professional journey, which did not stop with me obtaining a university degree. The two years I have dedicated to acquiring additional leadership and coaching skills have notably contributed to my present expertise. It is precisely the internationally recognised certificates NLP Leadership Master Practitioner and NLP Coach that make me most happy among all of which I own. This education helped me to truly extend the managerial view of business situations to people. Although my main focus is still on achieving better business results, I am now doing it even more successfully! I have further developed competencies that enable me to communicate better and more productively with employees, clients, teams and associates. This maximally expands my skills in the field of managing organisations and changes.
Since I have continuously extended my knowledge both theoretically and practically, my interest has, somehow naturally, continued in the direction of organisational culture. Therefore, aside from tackling this topic through the education mentioned above, in 2022 I also selected it as the field of interest for my postgraduate specialist thesis – focused on the comparative analysis of organisational culture in the private and public sectors in the Republic of Croatia, this thesis represents one of the first more concrete domestic contributions to the study of organisational culture from this perspective.
Moreover, I continued my professional training in this field – through learning from an internationally respected expert, I have enriched my knowledge with the one on diagnostic and leading the culture change process, and establishing a positive culture in an organisation…. and I continue to study this particularly complex and interesting topic.
Due to continuous professional development, but also changing industries, work positions and projects, which cumulatively resulted in rich experience in overcoming various obstacles and challenges in business, now I can successfully offer future clients comprehensive consulting and active support in different aspects of business management, especially in the area of initiation, structuring and management of organisational changes and business transformations, project and operations management, and organisational culture.
In this regard, what I have learned and confirmed many times over the years of work, especially in terms of reorganisation and revitalisation of business systems, is that the key to success lies in proactive changes! Although they often seem risky and naturally create resistance for many, it is precisely such changes, if properly planned and managed, that lead to progress and long-term sustainability. Because, as the famous saying goes: those who don’t take risks don’t profit!
And finally, I have always appreciated leaders who live by what they say, which is why I have personally embraced change as part of growth, the last of all being the founding of AMM CONSULTING and growing further with its specific challenges. From my personal example, I can confirm that the risk is worth making if supported by knowledge, experience and work. That is precisely what I offer you! Whether you represent an organisation or individually seek advice relating to business and professional development, or some specific (problematic) business situation, I will provide you with impartial, expert support, and where applicable, point out to you the benefits of changes and offer ways to implement them relatively painlessly. In addition to strategic planning, I will advise you on how to create conditions for properly launching changes and implementing them successfully, and I will actively support you along the way.
Make the first move and contact me with confidence – together we will unlock the full potential of your business!
